Week in Review - Sunday, March 14

Dear Parents,

This week in Hebrew School we continued learning all about the upcoming holiday of Passover. Each class practiced memorizing the the Mah Nishtana - the four questions. We have prepared beautiful cards to go along with it and a Mah Nishtana Karaoke Trainer to help us practice. Please use this great tool to have your child practice at home so they will be well prepared to sing it at the Seder. Click here for the Mah Nishtana Trainer Video.

This Sunday, March 21 both In-Person and Virtual Hebrew School will be gathering to celebrate a Pre-Passover Model Seder. We strongly encourage you to join this program with your families and bring the Passover spirit home! This is a great way for your children to solidify everything they learned in Hebrew School about the upcoming holiday and get them super excited for the Seder! Click here to RSVP to let us know if you will be coming!

Grades K-2
We learned all about why we eat Matzah and the process of how it's made! We also learned all of the customs that we do on Passover including cleaning our homes of all Chametz before passover, burning the Chametz and all of the things we do at the Seder! We played a super fun bop-it game with motions symbolizing the things we do at the Seder!

Grades 3-5
We learned the deeper meaning of leaving Egypt and how we, living in 2021 can relate to it. We discussed how each and every one of us have our own personal "evil Pharaoh" called the Yetzer Harah that gets us to try and do the wrong thing and every time we win over it and do the right thing, we are leaving Egypt! We also learned the laws and customs of Passover and played a really fun game to bring it all to life!

Grades 6-7
We focused on the idea that each and every one of us has the power to win over our "King Pharaoh" inside of us to do the right thing and leave Egypt. We learned about the Laws and Customs of Passover regarding not eating Chametz and eating Matzah. We then played a Passover version of 'Among Us' completing challenges that have to do with Passover!
